Dr. David S. Bradford, MD, San Francisco, CA, 94143
Dr. David S. Bradford is an internationally known orthopedic surgeon who treats patients with spinal disorders, including scoliosis, kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, and degenerative spine diseases. In addition to caring for patients, he conducts research in areas such as biomaterials, tissue engineering and tissue regeneration.
Bradford joined UCSF Medical Center in 1991 as chair of the Orthopedic Surgery department, a role he held until 2004. Prior to joining UCSF, he was chief of Spine Surgery at the University of Minnesota Hospitals. He earned a medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and completed a residency and a fellowship at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center/New York Orthopedic Hospital in 1969. In November 2001, Bradford received an honorary award from the French Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery Association. He also has participated in many professional organizations including as president of the Federation of Spine Associations and the Scoliosis Research Society.
