Dr. Vedat Deviren, MD, San Francisco, CA, 94143
Dr. Vedat Deviren specializes in the treatment of spinal disorders in children and adults and has a particular interest in problems affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, including deformities such as adult scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, failed back surgeries, degenerative conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, fractures and tumors.
His research addresses spine surgery outcomes, minimally invasive surgery, spinal biomechanics and instrumentation of the spine and strives to make the most advanced technologies available to patients. He has published numerous articles and abstracts on spinal disorders and their surgical outcomes.
Deviren, who joined UCSF Medical Center in 2001, is an associate clinical professor orthopedic surgery. He completed postgraduate theoretical and practical courses in orthopedics and traumatology at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Deviren also completed additional training in spine surgery as a clinical and research fellow at UCSF.
