I have been looking at them and thinking of getting one to use as exercise. However I also think I am NUTS to consider it lol
Does anyone here use the Wii system to get in their exercise with ?
Please share the good, the bad & the ugly with me
Ms. Humpty Dumpty Took a great fall and all the Drs and surgeons could not put her back together again.
After my fall I started to fall apart. L1-L2-L3-L4 - S1 & S2 gone. ( full herniation )Spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, degenerative disk, scoliosis.
The spacers in your back are gone/going, spinal nerve damage.
Spinal spurs. Both knee caps & both hips have degenerative bone disease, arthritis and bone spurs.
No surgeries as Drs. don't think it will help and may make things worse.
Age 47 - Here to find & offer support.
I've used both the standard Wii and the Fitness one.
I have been able to do most of them without causing any problems.

while i was recovering from neck surgery i got the wii fit. it really helps strengthening your core and works on your balance and posture. for most that have used my game tells them they are overweight and out of balance. dont take the insults to heart or you wont use it again. my wife used it once cause it told her physical fitness age was 57 and she is 42. i try to use it a few times a week to see where i am on weight and balance. i went from a physical age of 45 to avg of 28 and sometimes less. so it does help if you stick to it. ive watched myself go from 190 lbs to 175 lbs.
My Thanks for this information

Ironically I got the Wii system including "Wii Fit" for my husband for Xmas last year - guess who uses it more? ME...
I've had to back off a bit as my fusion isn't behaving, but a lot of the Wii Fit programs are yoga type for impact. It's fun, you go at your own pace, and you can do it with others. I am very glad I got this for Xmas - oops, for my husband for Xmas! What's his is mine right?

BTW - We are the same age!
For my last fusion, Wii Fit - most of my general balance and stretching. Some of the upward reaching and neck "glides" <---that's what I call them - all I do there is modify one of the exercises where they "turn/twist" together. I leave the twist out and gently turn my neck to stretch. Nothing fast. The game tells me to "go faster, try harder", but it is based on "Joe normal" playing the Fit part! ROFLA! I tried the hula-hoop thing where you catch these hula-hoops coming at me...a little too aggressive on the neck.
Most of the Wii Ski is neck friendly. I could do most a couple of weeks after surgery as most of it is below the neck! Another that was low impact to the neck is Winter Sports 2. Wii resort just came out in the last 6(?) months, and I find I can do the archery (good for stretching the arms and shoulders), tennis if I don't push it. There are some others on there, but hubby snuck off with it! If I remember right there is a Frisbee resort on there too - same thing, if I didn't push it, I could play that. I miss the bowling. I get to "into" it, and strain!! My neck fusion is not behaving "this go around", so I haven't played too much of late to make sure and not aggravate it further!
So.... "Wii Fit", "Wii Ski", "Wii Winter Sports", "Wii Sports" and "Wii Resort" seemed the most comfy. For backs I can see some mix and matches that would probably be okay depending on what stage you are in for the healing process. Hope that helps. Happy "Wii-ing!!!"
