Lower Back Pain Recently Hit By Car!!

Hello i am 22 years old and recently about 2-3 months ago was struck by a Dodge Magnum going approximately 30-40 MPH.. i was thrown onto the hood of the car and then flew into the air about 5-6 Ft. and landed on my lower back... i did not have health insurance at the time and got stuck with a 30,000 hospital bill from UCSD Medical Center in San Diego. I went to my fallow up appointment and told them how much pain i was in, all in the lower areas and they told me to get a CT Scan because they saw something on my Xrays in the area i was having pain.. however i did not get the Scan because of the cost... My pain was at a 8-9 for a month straight now its at a 4-5 everyday and when i am physically active goes up to a 9 or 10.. i have insurance now and want advice on what to do about my pain.. should i get the CT scan now or just get my XRAYS and goto a pain specialist? Any advice would be great thanks alot.

I would

take my x rays to a orthopedic or neurosurgeon that specialises in lower back issues they can order M.R.I. to evaluate and advise.
Then I would go straight to a personal injury attorney and get a judgement for the medical costs!
Good luck, Jim

Take the xrays that

you already have to a spine specialist and they will likely set you up for further testing. I hope that you do not get caught up in the pre existing condition clause that most insurers have. Good luck to you and do keep us posted.
