The Sciatic Nerve begins in the lower back and runs all the way down the leg. The condition, sciatica, is the result of compression or irritation of the nerve. Common causes of sciatica include, but are not limited to spinal disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and spondylolisthesis.
