What is Neuralgia?

Neuralgia is a painful condition caused by damage to the peripheral nervous system. Neuralgia may result in acute pain in a specific area of the body. This pain can range from a steady burning to a pricking or electric shock sensation. Pain Management treatments range from pain relief medications to antidepressants and anticonvulsants to even electrode therapy. Peripheral Neuralgia is often extremely difficult to treat.
